Grieving

Grieving, I don’t know what to say
But I know these feelings get heavier every day
So relieve me from the horror that we face
I know that silence only makes if feel like fateThere is no way to justify the pain we create
When we do state that ours is the only way
The wars we wage will never dissipate the fear that fuels our hate
My lungs do ache from sobs for innocents we annihilate

Reeling from the changes made in haste
Replace our freedoms with the will of the state
Shaking my belly begins to quake
Oh how I’m grieving, my insides just empty space

Are we too late, have we sealed our doom?
Can we navigate our ship out of the gloom?
If we hesitate does it necessitate that we glide towards ruin?
From torrential rains many flowers do bloom

I feel hope when I look into the eyes of an aged couple holding hands
I enjoy walking by a doorway hear happy talk and hearty laughs
Let’s make time to be kind
Let’s choose care over fear, let’s choose peace over misery
Let’s choose now to create a life that will fill our hearts with pride

Empathy gets beyond all our fears and all our doubts
We are all human beings, love and be loved is our biggest need

We sing out in harmony
We cry out for humanity
We sing out for quality
We shout out for dignity
