I looked long into the eyes of deception
I found caution to be my only true weapon
I prefer jungles and the eyes of a tiger
Where fear is real and no one hides their hunger
Come sit with me in the clear warm shallows
Away from heat and a gator’s sly gallows
Swim in freedom with the dancing hippos
Whose playful calm pacifies warring egos
Life is easy when you feel it
I know some consider me lazy
A dreamer, a fool and just a tad crazy
To share a pond with dancing hippos
Not hunt game in the teeming jungle
I know little of the world of survival
Even less of the words in the bible
I live simple and enjoy me freedom
And look to love to give my life meaning
