I have been searching for months for a blog like mine: one of intelligent essays and observations of the world. A non-niche perspective, if you will.

I came to your blog because I ended up with the same question as this post deals with: people always bring up phallic symbols, but you rarely hear about the vaginal ones.

There is a wealth of information available on the vagina as symbol……….
you could check out several books like,
The Story of V: A Natural History of Female Sexuality, When God was a Woman, Woman’s Mythology and Sexuality, Baubo, and The Language of the Goddess to start.

Also many religious symbols are vaginae; the vesica pisces from which all material life is born, and the almond shape which surrounds the virgin are both vaginas.
The cross is said to represent internal female genetalia.

In ancient religions the vagina was the original creatrix and consumer of all life and nothing in the universe has been able to penetrate her mysteries to this day.

I have not gone through the earlier post on male symbols however the current post on phallus vis-a-vis women specie is quite interesting.The theory has some substance. It confirms the Friedian concept of basic instinct being the motiff expressed in all the ways in life.May carry on..
