Yet, a move towards transparency is no doubt an improvement.
The public could always be informed when a meeting is being held off the grid, but should be informed of the basic subject matter and conclusions.
Most would agree it would be counterproductive to videotape a meeting of undercover cops or citizens being rewarded for anonymous tips whose info solved a crime or benefited the community.

Yet, often times people who refuse to work in plain sight should be held accountable even if this impairs the quality of their input or work.

Like cockroaches which flee when the light is turned on, sometimes things only done in darkness are best not done at all.</description>

		<description>I really like a lot of your points on transparency, especially keeping meeting and work notes.

But I can also see some arguments against.  One has to admit that deal-making is a part of politics, and that deals are made behind doors so that people can negotiate freely and not worry about their appearance.  Granted, closed doors also engender dishonesty, but removing closed doors also puts a lot of pressure honest talk that many of the public couldn&#039;t handle.</description>
